Client Space: Home office makeover

Client Space: Home office makeover

Thanks to the wonderful feedback I received when I last shared a client space (this beautiful sewing room), I thought I would make this a regular feature on the blog so you can see exactly what a personal organiser does. Today's makeover is a home office space. I'll show you how we decluttered and organised 2 rooms and set up some workable systems to deal with the paper clutter.

A recent client of mine asked me to help organise her home office, where she and her husband run their 2 businesses (I will share 'part 1' of this on Thursday). They have a lot of paperwork and needed systems for keeping the paper clutter at bay. When putting the plan for the space together, I researched lots of different organising methods, as I know paperwork is a real nightmare for a lot of people. Here are some ideas you might find helpful:

Do you have a garden shed? We have recently put one up in our garden, and it has created loads more storage space in our garage, plus provides an easily accessible place to keep all our gardening essentials. In today's video, I'm showing you how we organised our garden shed, utilising every inch of this small space as an effective storage system.

The build of this shed turned out to be a bigger project than we anticipated, so I hope you're prepared for photo overload! We achieved a lot over three weekends of hard work in pretty hot weather. Not only did we erect the shed, we also did a lot of garden clearing, extended the drip system, and fixed up the kids' backyard play area. So glad to have it all finished!

One of my (potentially over-ambitious) organisation goals for Jan-Feb was to get the home office sorted. All good to plan these things when you're relaxing on holidays, but facing the reality of this is quite a big job, particularly with kids at your feet 24/7! So, I'm tackling the home office in stages, which is a good way to approach any overwhelming job.
