My most recent client makeover was for a very dear friend, so it was a really great experience and one of my favourite makeovers! I love helping out all of my clients, but when they are friends it makes the process all the more enjoyable. Not only do we take the 'organising journey' together, I also get to hear about the positive impact and benefits of the newly organised space once the job's complete, which is the bit I love most about my job as a personal organiser!
Client Space: A work place makeover
As a professional organiser, helping individuals get organised in their homes and teaching them how to declutter is definitely the part of my job that I love the most. When a client recently contacted me for help with organising their work-place, I was super excited to be able to help a group of people with these things. Working in a messy, disorganised environment has had proven negative affects on work productivity. I believe that having a clean and clutter-free work space is just as important as having an organised home to keep you focused and using your time more effectively.
Client Space: Home office and spare room makeover
A few months ago, a client contacted me for help in organising her spare room/home office. Home offices are the spaces I help clients with the most, and for good reason. Lack of systems for organising paperwork, not enough storage, and holding on to too much 'stuff' are 3 problems I'm sure many people could relate to.
My client was feeling extremely overwhelmed about where to start, how to configure the room so that she could have people stay over, and how to declutter everything that was squeezed into this room. Decluttering can be a very emotional and tiring experience, but it is something I love to help people with because the end result is always so freeing and rewarding.
How to organise paperwork at home
Did you know that paperwork has to have a specific 'flow' in order for it to move effectively through your home and prevent paperwork build-up? It must have an entry point, a designated place to 'deal' with it, and an exit point. Paper clutter can be a huge cause of stress for many people, so if you're wanting to get organised in your home, tackling this area is a great first step. Here's how I did it!

How to create a family command centre
In today's video, I'm showing you our new family command centre that we recently set out in our living room. This is a hard-working space in our home, where we store calendars, receipts, cleaning schedule and jobs, a cork board for displaying important info and lots more. Having this space really helps us be more organised, keeps everyone on track with what's going on, and ensures there are no paper clutter piles building up elsewhere in the house. Watch the video to see how I set up this newly organised space!
