Hands up if you have an overflowing stationery or junk drawer somewhere in your house? No doubt it is full of those bits and pieces you need close at hand, such as scissors, sticky-tape, textas, rubber-bands.... the essentials! To me, there is no point having these items stored away in a home office or randomly scattered throughout the house - they need to all be in one place and easily accessible. Ideally you might have a drawer in the kitchen, but if your kitchen space is limited, free-standing drawers are another good solution.
Ideas for organising your shoe collection
How do you organise your shoe collection? Do you use racks or boxes or hanging dividers? Or are they just randomly strewn at the bottom of your wardrobe? Maybe a combination of the two! There are heaps of great shoe organising solutions out there, and today I'm sharing some storage options that we use to organise our shoe collection inside our wardrobe.
How to pack for a family trip
So today is the day - we are leaving for Noosa and I couldn't be more excited about spending some relaxing and fun time with my loved ones! This is actually our first family vacay outside of Melbourne. Throughout the year, we are lucky to have use of my parent's holiday house on the Great Ocean Road, so we spend a big chunk of our summer there, and weekends where possible. So, the challenge for me on this trip was having to pack for the 4 of us with a small amount of space! Usually we load up the car to the max, but this time of course suitcase space was limited.
Displaying children's artwork
One thing I've realised about kids that I'm sure most parents could relate to, is that they produce a huge amount of artwork! Of course, I treasure each and every piece (well, pretty much) - but if you don't have somewhere to display it, or a system to organise all the pieces, it can feel like it's taking over the house. I have to admit, it is taken me a while to figure out an artwork display and storage system that really works for me.
