I'm just a little bit excited to be giving you a sneak peek at our new kitchen! This video was actually filmed before we moved in, so it's a look at the bare bones of the kitchen layout... and yes, at this stage, there was still a fair bit of mess lying around, and many dirty drawers. But I'm still pumped to show off this great space to you all today!

I'm so proud of my husband Damian who built the whole thing himself, from the cupboards to the splash-back to the beautiful wooden island bench #whataman!

We used a flat pack Ikea kitchen, but customized quite a few things to make it look a little less 'out-the-box'. This included extending the cabinets all the way to the ceiling, adding crown moulding, and customizing the range-hood cabinet. We did not purchase any of our appliances from Ikea, which did cause a few dramas with measurements and some of the layout, but it was definitely worth it as we are really happy with our new appliance choices (oven, dishwasher, range-hood).
