If you had to name the main clutter zones in your house, there are usually 2 main hot spots. The first is the kitchen bench or table, where paperwork, lunch boxes, keys, glasses, mail and random bits and pieces often get dumped. And the second common clutter-zone is the entryway. Whether you enter through the front door or through a side or back entrance, the entryway is often where shoes, bags, keys, coats and hats get thrown. If you don't have organised zones set up to 'catch the clutter', then it's easy for the mess to build up and become overwhelming.

What's stopping you from getting more organised?

What's stopping you from getting more organised?

As a blogger and professional organiser, I come across many different organising needs and struggles from people I talk to, meet with and hear from via my weekly newsletter. These needs and struggles include knowing where to start when it comes to getting more organised, having strategies to overcome the organising barriers and excuses, knowing how to prioritise and schedule tasks, or knowing the process for decluttering and setting up new organised systems. When you start looking in depth at these struggles and concerns, some related themes start to arise. To me, the most common ones are:

Time
Fear/feeling overwhelmed
Lack of knowledge
Procrastination
Perfectionism

Maybe you can immediately identify with or relate to one (or some) of these themes? Today I want you to think about what's truly holding you back from getting more organised. I'm giving you some strategies to try to overcome the barriers, but more than anything it comes down to a change of mindset. Anyone can get more organised when armed with the right tools, strategies and knowledge! I know you can too.

A new guided program for The Organised You

Over the past 3 years, I have dedicated my time to helping busy individuals take back control of their lives by getting more organised. I've helped clients learn the valuable skills of decluttering, and shown them how to set up organised systems within their homes, empowering them with the knowledge and abilities to keep their household running more smoothly.

I've written hundreds of blog posts and created helpful videos detailing the strategies I use in my own home and with my family. Strategies that actually work to keep us organised and productive each day. Plus I've built a supportive and engaged community of individuals wanting to become more organised so they can take back control of their lives.

Taking back control of your life and making this happen is easier than you think and anyone can do it.  You can stop getting frustrated about your disorganised home and actually do something about it!
