The other day, I shared our household/family binder which I am really happy with, but my organisational goal was to create both a household and finance binder, so I'm pleased to now be checking that one off the list! My husband and I decided late last year that we needed a better system for managing our budget, and tracking our debt repayments and savings. I am in no way a financial expert, but thought I would share with you the new systems we are implementing that will hopefully help us take better control of our finances.
Creating a household binder
One of my organisational goals for Jan-Feb was to set up a family/household binder. A household binder is a folder which contains important information and relevant documentation for quick and easy access. It can include categories such as food, medical, school info, finance, contact info, travel, cleaning, car, work... Whatever you think will be helpful for you and your family.
Setting goals for 2015
When I'm on holiday, my mind is always buzzing with great plans for things I want to do, and projects I want to work on, around our house. Here's what I came up with...
Creating a Christmas Binder
Is it just me, or do you find that throughout the month of December you have 100 post-it notes with 'to-do' lists, gift ideas, and things you could possibly make, floating around the house? The more blogs and magazines I read, the more ideas I get from Pinterest, and the more DIY projects I think will be easy to just 'whip up', the sooner I realise I am taking on too much. As part of my 'Getting Ready for Christmas' series, today I'm sharing the binder I've put together that is [hopefully!] going to help me stay on track throughout this busy Christmas period!
Tips for getting ready for Christmas
Can you believe it is only 5 weeks until Christmas?! This year I made a decision to give it a lot more thought and preparation than previous years. This is only because I didn't plan well last year, and therefore felt very stressed and overwhelmed trying to get everything done in the last week or so!
