Monthly wrap-up: July
It's been another busy month at The Organised You! Here's a look at all the projects we tackled, including a huge bedroom makeover, organising the kids' wardrobes and kitchen, creating a photo gallery wall and testing out a whole lot of delicious recipes. Let's dive in!
This month was all about our master bedroom and home office makeover, which I showed you over the different stages: getting stuck in; construction time; and decluttering and organisation. This was a huge project for us, which actually took several months because of busy weekends and not having much dedicated time to completing it, which can always be a bit frustrating. But now that it's done, we absolutely love it!
Revealing the bedroom to you all after a lot of hard work was definitely one of the best parts of the project!
This month on The Organised You TV, I showed you how we arranged our photo gallery wall in the living area, which has become a real talking point when guests enter the house as it's directly in the entry. We used a range of different-sized white frames, and love the effect! I also showed you how we store our knives safely in the kitchen by using a magnetized strip attached to a wall, which is a great space saver, and a safe option with young kids around.
July marked the start of 'Recipe Sharing Tuesday' - you can download the recipes for easy pea and bacon quiche, nachos and 20-minute celery and potato soup by clicking on the links. The recipes are all tried and tested by my 2 kids (one who has always been quite fussy!), so know they are family-friendly, quick and easy, healthy, and most importantly - delicious! I'm looking forward to showing you how to use these recipes to meal plan for a week/ fortnight/ month.
I also shared my view on the benefits of being an organised person, which include feeling on top of household chores and paperwork, having a well-functioning and organised kitchen, and feeling comfortable with quick meal planning and grocery shopping.
I had a little hiatus for most of June to work on the brand makeover (thank you for all the lovely feedback!), but at the start of that month I shared tips for an organised change-table and a video on organising kids' wardrobes.
What have you been up to in the months of June and July? Have you tackled any home projects that you're feeling proud of?
